SJM Resorts has inaugurated the Palazzo Versace hotel at its Grand Lisboa Palace property, Versace’s first luxury hotel in Asia.
The hotel, spanning across one of the resort’s towers, boasts 271 rooms and suites exuding an Italian Palazzo ambiance, furnished with bespoke linens, Versace Home textiles, and Italian terrazzo flooring.
Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM Resorts indicated in the ceremony that the opening “fully realised” the group’s vision for its first Cotai integrated resort, the Grand Lisboa Palace,
Dining options at the hotel include two Italian restaurants: Don Alfonso 1890 and La Scala del Palazzo.
In addition to dining, Palazzo Versace Macau features a wellness retreat, personal training studio, and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
“The Grand Lisboa Palace now stands out as home to the only couture-focused designer hotels in Macau, positioning our city as one of the few destinations worldwide offering such ultraluxe branded hospitality experiences,” Daisy Ho pointed out.
The property opening included a surprise music performance from world-renowned musician, John Legend, in an event that had in attendance, Donatella Versace, Chief Creative Officer Versace, and celebrities such as Austin Lin, Chang Huasen, Shin Hae Sun and Blue Pongtiwat Tangwancharoen, K-pop star Ok Taec-yeon.
SJM Holdings has reported nearly HKD1.73 billion (US$220 million/MOP1.78 billion) in adjusted EBITDA for the 12 months to December last year, reversing a loss of HKD3.1 billion a year earlier.
Its Cotai property, Grand Lisboa Palace, earned HKD3.67 billion in gross revenue, of which 73 per cent, or HKD2.69 billion came from gaming activity. The latter was up from HKD346 million in 2022.
