The Grand Harbor and Royal Dragon hotels have ceased its function as “quarantine hotels” for those arriving in Macau, according to local tourism authorities. Out of the 12 hotels, which at the peak were turned into isolation facilities, only four remain operating.
The 90-room Grand Harbour hotel began to be used for quarantine on March 25, while Hotel Royal Dragon, with 144 rooms, had been in operation since March 26.
Pousada Marina Infante, Golden Crown China Hotel, Jai Alai and part of the Sheraton Grand Hotel are the four remaining “quarantine hotels”.
Inês Chan from MGTO’s Licensing and Inspection Department said yesterday at the daily press conference on Covid-19 that 753 people were still subject to the 14-day mandatory quarantine period in the four designated hotels.
Macau has not registered new cases for five consecutive days. Thirty-two patients infected with the new coronavirus remain hospitalized.
